Podcast Interview on SheVentures

I was honored to share my story with SheVentures Podcast in support of entrepreneurs everywhere doing the hardest things every single day. I’ve very recently begun publicly opening up about my entrepreneurial journey— particularly around my mental health challenges during my last business— as I navigated a messy financial betrayal by my business partner, fought to save my company (and myself) and lived on the verge of bankruptcy for more than four years.

This dessert is SO FREAKING GOOD you will never even know it’s healthy. So while you’re indulging, your body will actually thank you for the healthy fat and antioxidant mash up that will completely delight your taste buds too. Plus, an avocado a day keeps the doctor away (says me!). Every time I make this, I get asked for the recipe. So, here it is. Enjoy!

My Podcast Interview on Eat Real To Heal

Listen in on my deep dive conversation with Nicolette Richer, founder of Richer Health and the Green Moustache Cafe, and author of Eat Real to Heal. We chat about my full journey of healing— from reversing a chronic digestive disorder in my early 20s (that ultimately led me to my career in health coaching), to overcoming adrenal fatigue and severe depression, to developing a suite a self-care tools that literally saved my life during a five-year period of complete financial devastation and unending overwhelm in my last food business.

If it’s chilly outside (and, yes, it still feels like winter in SF), chances are the soup is on in my house! So, you guys are going to see a LOT of soup recipes in here. Sorrynotsorry? I like to make one hearty soup each week, usually on Sunday, so that I have it on hand to cover a few nights of dinner. Cook it once and eat it twice, or even better, five or six times! Because that means less time cooking and more time doing whatever else you love. (I also happen to love eating leftovers!)

The Outcome of Self-Care is Empowerment: A love note for Valentine's Day

I absolutely love love. I find it to be the most natural thing ever to share it with my people, my pooch, even a stranger on the street. But this thing here, this “self-love”, has been a much harder and deeper and truer relationship to cultivate. It requires a level of honesty and compassion and, most often, unwavering self-forgiveness that has taken a lifetime of practice (yep, still practicing).

Soup. Yep, it’s basically my favorite food, as those of you who’ve ever sat at my dinner table already know! I’ve been finding myself wanting to seriously get back to the nutrition basics lately, and soup is one of those basics for me. Super filling but also easy to digest, and so many ways to create the tip up your bowl and drink the last drop deliciousness. Since so many peeps have asked me for my recipes during my Healthy Bites years and beyond,  I’m going to start sharing more of them here, starting with this one. I’ve been told it’s the best soup ever. But you’ll have to make it and see for yourself. Happy souping and slurping (because one usually leads to the other).

My hands-down most requested recipe: Garlic kale salad

My hands-down most requested recipe: Garlic kale salad

Kale, doctored up my favorite way! Whether I’ve hosted friends for a dinner party or delivered food to hundreds of meal delivery clients, this super simple, super health recipe has easily been the most sought after over the years. Unlike other salad recipes, you can make and dress this in advance and it actually gets better (and doesn’t get soggy!) the longer you let it soak up all the lemony garlicky goodness. Just don’t plan on kissing anyone after you eat it. But the garlic breath is worth it, I promise!
